How to fix a loose doorlight

If your door light is loose, not sitting properly, or falling out, the issue is usually not the light itself. The fix is quick and easy. What causes the problem The door light is made to a very tight tolerance, so the usual cause is the adjustable clasp/clip on the end of the unit being pressed in too far during installation. When this happens, the clip sits recessed, which stops the light from fitting tightly in the door. https://youtu.be/uGYqmq3Xc8Y What you need Use one of these tools: - The pry tool included in the box - A small flathead screwdriver - A pair of scissors Step-by-step instructions 1. Remove the door light Take the light out of the door so you can inspect it properly. 2. Find the adjustable clip Look at the end of the light unit for the clasp/clip. This is the part that may have been pushed in too far. 3. Check whether the clip is recessed If the clip is sitting flush with or below the surface of the unit, it likely needs to be pulled outward. 4. Insert your tool under the clip Use the pry tool, scissors, or a flathead screwdriver to gently get underneath the clip 5. Pry the clip outward Carefully lift the clip out a little at a time until it sits slightly above the body of the light. 6. Adjust further if needed If the fit was very loose, pull the clip out a bit more so it protrudes further from the unit. 7. Reinstall the light Put the light back into the door and check the fit. 8. Test the tightness Make sure the light now sits securely and does not fall out or move around. Extra tip If any of your other door lights also feel loose, remove them and adjust the same clip in the same way. The clip is designed to be fully adjustable for this reason. Result Pulling the clip outward should fix the issue and help the door light sit tightly and securely in place.
